Last day of vacation
Sadly, it's the last day of vacation for me. I know, I know, most people don't have off as often as I do, but going back after a long break sucks. It was fun though, besides my allergies acting up.
This weekend was one of the best ones we've had in a long time. On Friday night, Chris and I met the British version of us, Ealis and Chris. They worked with Dora in Japan and they were here visiting. She said that they were her British equivalent of us. They were really nice. We drove around town for a little bit to show them around and then ended up at the Scots Club.
On Saturday, Dora invited us over for her and Luke's famous biscuits and gravy which were really good. We found a new food to like. After that, we drove to Branch Brook park to see the cherry blossoms, unfortunately they weren't out. So instead, we showed Luke the wonder that is Rutt's Hut. I think he liked it a lot.
After that, Chris and I got ready to go to dinner. We had a gift certificate for Cuban Pete's in Montclair. First off, the place is beautiful. You can really tell that they put a lot of money into their decor. The mojitos were great. Unfortunately, they don't have a liquor license, so they were only .5% alcohol but it's a byob. We didn't bring anything though, being we were going out for drinks later. The food was amazing. Neither of us had been blown away at a restaurant in a long time. The dessert was the best rice pudding and flan that we've EVER had. We will definitely be hitting up this place again.
After dinner, we went to Rachel and Mike's apt. It's so cute! We played some fun Wii games and then headed to a bar by William Paterson, the Shepherd and the Knucklehead. The place was awesome. It was very tiny and had a hippie-ish vibe like Donegal's, complete with a variety of cool beers.
