Like omg, Chris' beefie is in the number twelve!

Yeah. So last night was the #12/Folly/The Sleeping and some other bands at the Garfield American Legion which we haven't been to in ages. It was great as far as seeing a lot of our friends, the bar area being 21 and OVER, and seeing Smoogs' last show :(

However, one thing I cannot stand is the people at shows. The kids there were so young I was afraid that I was going to see some of my students there (which is funny if you know what grades I teach). I think "moshing" is completely retarded and is nothing but an excuse to "look manly" and fight. Chris got punched because he pushed some guy away from the area we were standing because the guy was dancing into everyone. It didn't really faze him though. I had the rush to punch the guy, but I'm not about fighting at all. Some girl who couldn't have been more than 12 years old (no lie) was telling her boyfriend (who had perfect highlights!) that Eileen kept pushing her and she was gonna kill her. I seriously love this "tough" mentality. It was never that bad when Chris and I started going to shows years ago. Now everyone thinks they're "scene" or "hardcore". It's the newest trend and I can't stand it.

Anyway, the 12 were great. It was pure insanity for Smoogs who got pummeled by Chris and Jeremy (in the most loving, we love you way), got attacked with cake, confetti, packing peanuts, tp, and bagels. Our group was lucky enough (and probably the envy of all the 12 year old "scenesters") to secure a spot behind the stage to attend our buddy's last show.

Today is New Year's Eve and we still have no idea what we're doing. We play it by ear every year. I think this might be the 1st year that we're not going to Alex's party. Who knows. We'll have fun no matter what we do. We're cool like that :)

xoxo
Kim and Chris
